It would seem that getting rid of fear is the way to happiness, but that is only half the way to happiness. It was much harder for me to realize that hope can be crueler than fear. Suffering occurs when we don't accept things as they are, so where there is hope, there is fear, and vice versa. This painting represents the journey through fictitious, illusory doors, beyond the limitations of both fears and hopes.It is the door within the mind that must be passed through for real life to begin.

No hope No Fear
About series of artworks "SELF"
Self is a series of artworks that turned out to be an answer to the question "Who am I? In the search for this mysterious self, I had to dig up a whole bunch of fragments, revise each of them, and then build something new out of the pieces.
The house (more home as a house) is the symbol from which the search began. The goal was to build something in my psyche that would hold all my pieces together, brick by brick.
Almost every painting has a word hidden in it that somehow reflects the meaning I wanted to put into it. I don't think words are that important to understanding the artwork, and I try to paint in a way that the works speak for themselves. But a hidden word, like an Easter egg, is a nice bonus that I like to leave for the viewer, and I hope they have as much fun finding it.
