In my series of paintings, I explore the theme of contrast itself. Contrast is a manifestation of the duality of our nature. This duality is at the core of our superficial perception of being, and seeing the core of this duality means going beyond the concepts of the mind. In Buddhism and Hinduism, this state is called Samarasa, or "one taste."
Our ego is filled with contrasts such as like/dislike, happiness/grief, good/evil, clean/dirty, and so on, as well as the meanings and beliefs we ascribe to objects of perception. This is the cause of most human suffering. Samarasa is an exit beyond the perception of meanings and a transition to the state of being. In my works in this series I use images of objects and invite you to look at them from a state of UNKNOWLEDGE and thereby plunge into ignorance about ourselves. Only from this position can one see the duality itself from the outside without taking one position or another and go beyond the superficial perception of "I am that," discarding the contrast between subject and object.
And only by looking beyond the form depicted in the painting, by scrutinizing the “not-self” , it's possible to see DASEIN itself.
